A former friend of mine once told me “Richard, you must never tell jokes in public. A joke in your mouth is no laughing matter.” Be that as it may, over the years I have saved stories and odds and ends that I thought were amusing. Many of them came from the usenet newsgroups. Some of them were told to me by my mother. Being the good fellow that I am I thought I would share them with you, the interested reader. After all, I do need something to fill my web pages!

Just plain weird
Life is tough. The other day I was pulled over for doing trochees in an iambic pentameter zone and they revoked my poetic license. It’s just as well. My poetry writing was compulsive. Every morning I would get up and immediately start versifying. It was a case of going from bed to verse.
