Another damned white Christmas

Less late is better

That’s my new slogan. Apparently I can’t get this furshlugginer (sp?) thing out on time. I have a long list of reasons why I haven’t been able to. Since the list doesn’t even convince me I’m not going to bother you with it.

I also am not going to make a New Year’s resolution to do better. I’ve only made one New Year’s resolution in my life and I kept it. I’m not going to mess up my record. The resolution? When I was much younger, back in the last century or perhaps the one before that, I resolved to never again make New Year’s resolutions. My track record has been perfect ever since.

Still, I would like to get the whole thing back on track. Wish me luck.

Site traffic in 2009

Site traffic in 2009 is slightly off from 2008. This may be random variation or it may be part of a long term trend. I suspect the latter – the usage of the internet keeps changing over time. Be that as it may, here are the numbers.

Christmas in South Dakota

In the days before Christmas the weather bureau warned us about the big storm coming. It would start Wednesday the 23rd; however the big storm would be overnight on Xmas eve. They didn’t get it quite right. On Thursday they told us it would clear up on Friday. On Friday they told us it would clear up on Saturday. On Saturday they said it would be done by Sunday. And so it was, mostly. My mother always insisted that no one visit her on Xmas. Now I know why. Below are a few pictures of the grounds.
