The Carrot Family

Once upon a time there were three carrots. There was Papa Carrot, Mama Carrot and their young son, Junior Carrot.

One fine spring day Papa Carrot, Mama Carrot, and Junior Carrot were out for a walk. They came to an intersection where they had a walk light. Papa Carrot stopped to check left and right to see if any traffic was coming. Mama Carrot stopped to check left and right to see if any traffic was coming.

Alas. Junior Carrot was not wise to the ways of the city. He didn’t stop to check left and right to see if any traffic was coming. He just dashed out into the street. BOOM! A taxi cab running a red light ran over him.

It was terrible. Junior Carrot was barely alive. The policemen came. The ambulance came. They hauled Junior Carrot off to the hospital. Mama Carrot and Papa Carrot waited anxiously at the hospital while the doctors operated on Junior Carrot. Finally the doctor came out and said:

“I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that your son is going to live. The bad news is that he will be a vegetable for the rest of his life.”
