Count Vladimir looked on the limp form Ilena lying on the floor with satisfaction. “She shall never leave this planet alive,” he sneered at Roger, “but you, you interfering fool, shall – but not all in one piece!”

Roger did not deign to answer this jibe of the evil count. Things looked bad, but fortunately he had the magic decoder two way finger radio disguised as a ring on his finger. He reached down to twist the stone that would signal Xylar, the faithful android, to come to the rescue and was shocked – the ring was gone!
