You let him have his way with you. For a while life is easier under his protection, and then you become pregnant. When you leave the dance stage he is no longer interested in you and abandons you for another dancer. You return to your parent’s home. They and you are disappointed, but you resolve to make the best of things.

You have a difficult pregnancy, but a fortunate one; you give birth to a beautiful daughter. You aren’t able to return to the dance; your body has betrayed. Instead you devote yourself to your daughter and train her to dance. You warn her to trust no man.

She is brilliant, better than you ever were. You foresee great things for her, but you are not there to see them – you die of a fever in her third year on the stage.
