The drill instructor and the recruit

Boot camp was rough during World War II. In the early days of the course, a drill instructor raged up and down in front of his new recruits.

He stopped in front of a private and demanded. “You’re in the jungle on an island, and an enemy pops out in front of you with his bayonet fixed. What do you do?”

The recruit said, “I’d reach behind me and throw shit in his face.”

“Where would you get the shit?”

“Don’t worry, it’d be there!”
